August 20th, 2011 - Williamson Sustainability 101 Workshop and Picnic

The Williamson Redevelopment Authority and WVSC are proud to offer the Sustainability 101 Workshop in Mingo County.  This sustainability primer sets the stage for subsequent workshops that will provide community assessment and planning resources.  The training is sponsored by the Green Up grant from Workforce WV.  Please RSVP by August 12th to Karima Ma at the WRA (304) 236-5423 or williamson.wra@gmail.com.

August 23rd, 2011- Martinsburg Energy Efficiency WV Public Meeting

Join the discussion about how the Public Service Commission sets electric rates, and how citizens can support stronger energy efficiency programs from Mon Power and Potomac Edison (formerly Allegheny Power).  Energy Efficient West Virginia is hosting a series of public meetings this summer and fall in collaboration with the WV Citizen Action Group and the Coalition for Reliable Power.  Event starts at 7:00 PM at the Martinsburg-Berkeley Public Library (101 West King St., Martinsburg).

August 31st, 2011 - Lewisburg Energy Efficiency WV Public Meeting

This workshop, beginning at 7:00 PM at the Lewisburg City Hall will be a two hour survey about how residents and businesses can be empowered to take control of their energy bills.  Come hear about energy saving tips, as well as means to voice your concern about your access to affordable, reliable energy.  Light refreshments will be available.

September 14th - 15th, 2011 - West Virginia Brownfields Conference

This year, Brownopoly and educational workshops and project showcase will provide excellent opportunities to learn about how Brownfields can be turned into positive economic and community drivers.  Join other professionals, stakeholders, and policymakers at the Waterfront Hotel in Morgantown this Fall.  You can read more about the conference and register at the following link.

September 15th, 2011 - Charleston Sustainability 101 Workshops

As part of the 2011 Kanawha Valley Sustainability Fair, WVSC and Bridgemont Community and Technical College will be offering two Sustainability 101 Workshops at the Charleston Area Alliance Conference Room.  The sessions are two hours long, and start at either 1:00 PM or 6:00 PM.  There will be light refreshments.  For more information, view our flyer.  Although this event is free, space is limited.  Reserve your spot today by contacting Kelly Jo Drey at kdrey@bridgemont.edu or 304-734-6709.

September 24th, 2011 - Kanawha Valley Sustainability Fair

Visit the 2011 Sustainability Fair at the Columbia Gas Transmission Building in Charleston.  The fair starts at 10:00 AM and concludes at 4:00 PM.  The Fair addresses a number of sustainability themes, including locally grown food, conservation, energy, green building, government and community resources, recycling, health, economic development, transportation, culture and history. September 27th, 2011 - Wind Working Group Meeting

Join the West Virginia Wind Working Group at the Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center in Davis, WV.  Starting at 9:00 AM and concluding at 3:15 PM, participants will gain insight into wind projects in the state, as well as how research, workforce development, and institutional support could promote further development of wind energy in the state.  Contact Patrick Mann for more information, or to register.

September 27th - 28th, 2011 - Sustaining Lean Conference
