Heard it all? Seen it all? Is there nothing anyone can tell you about ways to move forward in your community? Then you probably can’t learn a doggone thing at the 4th Create West Virginia Conference coming up in Wheeling October 17-19.
BUT IF, when you look at your community you see possibilities in shabby or empty buildings, if you don’t see why your population couldn’t grow instead of shrinking, if you wonder how to attract and keep young, creative people in your town instead of waving goodbye to them, you may find spending a couple of days in the company of like-minded folks an inspiration worth the time and money.
- Artists
- engineers and inventors
- designers
- entrepreneurs
- business people
- outdoor enthusiasts—
—many who may not have come together before to address issues of change and growth—will share inspiring new possibilities in business, technology and education.
In other words, it’s not the same ol’ same ol’. If you’re a same ol’ same ol’ kind of person, if you can’t see how anything will ever change and don’t see any need for it anyway, put your feet up on your desk and stay home.
But if what’s possible is vastly more interesting to you than what’s probable, you may want to take advantage of the Early Bird Special, good through Monday, August 31.
The price for the conference until then is $299, plus your room at Oglebay Resort. After Monday at midnight, the price goes up to $349— still a bargain. Artists and full-time registered students get the conference for $99!
On Monday afternoon, the Quality of Place and Community Resources tracks will combine for a walking tour of downtown Wheeling, a living lab of challenges and successes that could pertain to almost any community in West Virginia. On Tuesday morning, the two tracks will combine again for a two-hour hands-on session placing resource experts in small groups with you to take on real issues using a model process communities can also use.
See you at the Create Conference, Sunday, October 17-19, Wheeling, WV.
P.S. Come early on Sunday and choose from three stand-alone pre-conference sessions for an additional $39 each, or attend the state’s first Innovation Summit, and meet innovators in a broad variety of disciplines. More about that soon!
